Ruby was born on September 30, 1930, in Beaverton, AL, the daughter of Lesley and Leoma Kennedy. She married the love of her life, Murlon Wilson, on August 25, 1950, and moved to Moline, IL.

Ruby held many titles in her life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and kind-hearted Christian woman. Ruby was a homemaker and took great pride in keeping a spotless house and caring for her family. She had a one-of-a-kind talent in the kitchen. Her cooking and baking were loved by all and her Southern roots were evident in her mouthwatering meals. Above all, Ruby valued and cherished relationships. One could always count on Ruby to lend an open ear and humble heart. She loved to talk and visit with people and she truly never met a stranger.

Ruby loved the Lord and was a true disciple of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Riverview Free Will Baptist Church in Bettendorf, IA. She loved her church and church family and very rarely missed a service.

Ruby, known affectionately as "Momo", leaves a lasting legacy. Her contagious laugh and thoughtful advice will be cherished forever by her family. She had a true gift for listening to others and was one of the easiest people you could ever talk to.

Ruby is survived by her devoted and faithful husband of 62 years, Murlon Wilson; two daughters and their spouses, Diane and Jerry Cosner of Moline and Janet and Dr. Kenneth Samuelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; two granddaughters and spouse, Shelly and Rich Palmer and Kara Moncrief; two step-grandsons, Greg and Dan Cosner and families; two great-granddaughters, Ella and Elin Palmer; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Shirley Kennedy; two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sue Hendon, all from Alabama.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hope Creek Nursing Home and Dr. Durco for their dedication, compassion, and care of Ruby for so long.
