Russell "Russ" L. Austin, 61, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Unity Point Health, Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Heritage Church, 4801 44th Street, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Heritage Church.

Russell was born on January 16, 1952, in Quincy, IL, the son of Vernon L. Austin and Gladys V. Sanders. He married Terry VanOteghem on July 3, 1971, in Moline.

Russ was employed with John Deere Harvester for 34 years retiring from full time in October of 2008 and currently working as a part time tour guide. Russ was an avid fisherman and a member of the Quad City In-Fisherman Club. He was also a car enthusiast and a member of Centennial Rods. Russ enjoyed bowling and in his bowling career has bowled four 300 games and one 800 series.

He was preceded in death by his father and his half-sister, Kathy Eager.
