Russell, E. Brown, 83, of East Moline, died March 23, 2008 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008 with a visitation from 12-2 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Russell was born November 21, 1924 in Moline to Walter Lee and Marie Viola (Whitmore) Brown. He married Marian Landers on June 1, 1946 in Moline.
Russell was employed for 30 years at Alcoa retiring as a supervisor in June of 1985. Prior to going into the service, he worked at Moline Tool Co. for six years and J.I. Case for six years.
Russell was a WWII Army veteran serving from March 1943-January 1946. He was in the 3rd Division 15th Regiment Company B and then was transferred to Reconnaissance under General Mark Clark. He received 4 Overseas Service Bars, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/ 1 Silver Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal, Dist. Unit Badge Go 44 WD 45 World War II Victory Medal with Bronze Arrowhead.
Russell enjoyed fishing, boating, wood working and mechanic repairs.

He was preceded in death by sons William, Robert and Russell, Jr., brothers Walter, Leroy, Wilbur and Joe and sister Mabel Catterton-West.
