Russell C. Holm, 73, of Moline, IL, went home to Jesus, as a result of Bulbar ALS, on Monday, November 7, 2016, at his home.
Private family services will be held and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Jim Machen, Sr. will officiate. Memorials may be made to Jan Markell Olive Tree Ministries, P.O. Box 1452, Maple Grove, MN, 55311. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Russell was born on December 11, 1942, in Moline, IL, the son of Chester Frank and Mary Phyllis Bass Holm. He was self-employed.
Russell was a member of the former Moline Gospel Temple, enjoyed gardening, and studying Bible prophecy. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and his dogs.
Survivors include his sister, Janice (David) Russell, Blue Grass, IA; brother, Dennis (Renee) Holm, East Moline, IL; 4 nieces, Kimberly (Andrew) Varner, Blue Grass, IA, Susan (Brandon) Reed, DeWitt, IA, Kristine (Scott) Jensen, Parkview, IA, and Jane (Jeffrey) Weime, Parkview, IA; 3 nephews, John (Ashley) Russell, Kansas City, MO, Wayne (Ashley) Holm, Davenport, IA, and Todd (Ellie) Berthroud, Littleton, CO; great nieces and nephews, Brooke, Taylor, Erik, Hunter, Brady, Drew, Jenna, Trent, and Jace.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
