Ruth Bohman

Anna “Ruth” Bohman, 94, of Milan, formerly of Rock Island, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2018, at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private family graveside service and burial of cremains will take place at Western Township Cemetery in Orion.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family.

Ruth was born on June 2, 1924 in Marion, KY, to George and Minnie Belt Gass.  She married Glenneth Hodge and later Donald Bohman.  Ruth worked as a waitress at the Quad City Airport for over 40 years.  She was involved in the Croatian Club.  She loved animals, traveling, and spending time with family.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Hamerlinck, Orion; 2 grandchildren, Neil (Beth) Hamerlinck, Orion, and Julie (Chris) Wheaton, Moline; 4 great grandchildren, Ashley (Jake) Wheaton, Brittnie (Jake) Cadogan, Nicholas Hart, and Scott Liedtke; and 2 great great grandchildren, Elizabeth LaFrancois and Calvin Cadogan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Craig Hamerlinck; son-in-law, Kenneth Hamerlinck; and sister, Madeline Gass.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Rhoda and Bob Humphreys and Avonlea Cottage.
