Ruth B Casel

Ruth B. Casel, 98, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Aledo, IL.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Ruth was born on July 4, 1918, in Floris, IA, the daughter of Earl E. and Edith Blanchard Swaim.  She married Donald Archer in 1936.  Later, she married Melvin J. Casel in 1965, and he preceded her in death in 1978.  She owned and operated Hamburger Kitchen from 1951-1959.  She then went on to work at New York Store in Moline and later as a cashier for Jupiter Store.

Ruth enjoyed puzzles, dining out with her family, and watching television.  She attended Fellowship Temple, where she especially loved to spend time.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette (Smith E.) Hicks; son, Donald G. Archer; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 8 brothers; 4 sisters; 1 grandchild.
