Ruth L. Farwell, 85 of Geneseo, formerly of Orion died August 24, 2006 at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion.
Ruth was born March 18, 1921 in Hiteman, IA to Arthur and Margaret (Allison) Amsbury. She married Edward J. Farwell on March 2, 1940 in Melcher, IA. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1974.
Ruth worked at the State Bank of Orion for 30 years. She retired March 18, 1986 as an assistant cashier. After her retirement she worked as a secretary at the Osco Community Church.
Ruth was a graduate of Madrid High School and attended Capitol City Commercial College. She was a member of Osco Community Church. She was a member of Orion Women's Bowling Association, Mother's of WWII, Orion Women's Club and Order of the Eastern Star. In her earlier years she was a den mother for Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters Nancy McKeag, Rebecca Farwell, a son Roger Farwell and two brothers and two sisters.
