Ruth J. Green, 69 of Coal Valley, passed away February 3, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control,

Ruth was born on March 5, 1940 in Centerville, Iowa the daughter of Earl James and Fern Hedberg Matthewson. She married Larry H. Green on January 13, 1958 in
Omaha, NE. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1996.
Ruth was an office manager at Younkers at South Park Mall and was office manager at Larry Green Trucking in Coal Valley. She enjoyed NASCAR racing and the gambling boats and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Hollars of Colona; 2 grandchildren Eric (Brien) Hollars of Colona and Lacey Hollars of Colona; 2 great grandchildren Justin and Emma Hollars; 1 sister Barbara Morris of Ft. Madison, IA; brother-in-law Sammy Green of East Moline; mother-in-law Audrey Rogers of Centerville, IA; 2 nieces Susan Morris of
Ft. Madison, IA and Debra Morris of Iowa City, IA; 1 nephew John Robert Morris of
Los Angeles, CA and sister-in-law Deanna Giselbach (Clay) of Ocala, FL
She was preceded in death by her parents.
