Ruth Pauline Hanson

Ruth Pauline Hanson, 86, of Rock Island, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Intouch Adult Day Center or the Rock Island Historical Society.
Ruth was born December 5, 1920 in Moline to B. Frank and Helen Meese Mauk. She married Wayne R. Hanson July 2, 1949 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1990.
Ruth was a loving mother and devoted to her family. She was employed at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, retiring in 1983 after 35 years of service. Her grandfather, William A. Meese, founded the Rock Island Historical Society in 1905, and where Ruth volunteered for many years. She also volunteered at Niabi Zoo and the Davenport Art Museum. Ruth loved garden flowers and feeding ducks along the Rock River.
