Funeral services for Ruth Huggins, 92, of Sherrard are at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Mary, Our Lady of Peace, Orion. Burial will be in the Sherrard Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday between 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion.
Ruth Evelyn Greenwood was born in Greene Twp. near Viola on December 28, 1913, the daughter of Claude and Jessie Morey Greenwood. She was reared and educated in Viola. She was united in marriage to E.L. (Mike) Huggins in Dixon, IL in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
She is survived by one son George R. and spouse Catherine; grandsons Mark and spouse Linda,, and Robert; great-grandsons Michael and spouse Kristen, Matthew and spouse Michaela and Tyler, and one great-granddaughter Emily; two very special friends Alverna Parker and Lorie Rind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and a sister, and a grandson Michael John..
