Ruth Emily Maitland, age 84, of Moline, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline with additional visitation from 9:00-11:00 prior to the service. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Organ Fund or The American Cancer Society.
Ruth was born June 18, 1924 in Elk Grove Township, IL, the daughter of Henry and Freida (Schwake) Moehling. She married Kenneth Arthur Maitland on February 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1991.
Ruth was an executive secretary in the Visuals Section of the Advertising Department for Deere & Company for 19 years. She was a highly active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, involved as a church volunteer and in bible study classes. Ruth was also a member of Pinnacle Country Club ( formerly Mill Creek Country Club). She was an avid golfer and bridge player.
