Sally Ann Moran-Krantz, 78, of East Moline, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2016 at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona while visiting family.
A funeral service will be 10:00 on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 3020 30 Street, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Church Memorial Fund or to the American Red Cross Emergency Fund.
Sally was born on February 21, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul Raymond and Violet Esther Niere Carlton. She married Robert Lee Moran in September of 1956 in Rock Island; he preceded her in death in August of 1999. She later married Richard “Dick” Krantz in May of 2001 in Rock Island.
Sally was employed with the Argus Dispatch as District Manager and in customer service retiring in 2005 after over 26 years. She and her husband then became crossing guards for the Moline School District. Sally was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Rock Island where she was very involved with the choir. Sally enjoyed reading, playing dominos, Big Fish computer games and murder mystery games but her true passion was music and singing.
Survivors include her; husband, Dick, East Moline, IL; children, JoLynn (James) Boyd, Colona, IL, Amber (James) Webber, Galesburg, IL, and Tina (Dan) Gerlich, Thompson Station, TN and Moline, IL; step children, Karla (Adam Castrejon) Krantz, Rock Island, IL, Rhonda Krantz, Colorado Springs, CO, Richard B. (Sally) Krantz, Moline, IL, Mike Krantz, East Moline, IL, Cheryl Rasche, Moline, IL, and Diana (Joe) Burlingame, Chesapeake, VA; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; and 2 step great great grandchildren; siblings, Joan (Al) Bryant, Queen Creek, AZ, Linda (Marvin) Arnold, Winterville, NC, and Paul (Elaine) Carlton, Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her son Bob.
