Sara Mae Hile, 89 of Moline passed away April 9, 2010 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., April 13th at Bethany Baptist Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Friendliness or Alternatives for the Older Adult.
Sara Mae was born on May 7th, 1920 in Moline the daughter of O. W. "Bill" and Maebelle Johnson Swensson. She married Loren "Wayne" Hile on October 4th, 1946 at Bethany Baptist Church in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Sara Mae was a secretary for the Moline Schools, working at Allendale as well as John Deere and Wilson Junior High Schools. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she served on the Missions Committee. She also volunteered at the former Lutheran and Trinity Hospitals. She loved to knit for her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports.
Survivors include her sons Bill Hile of Moline and Steve and Barb Hile of Naperville; daughter Sara and Bob Jones of Moline; 4 grandchildren Matt Jones and Nikki Fisher, Michael and Karla Jones, Stephanie and Dan Allen and Colleen Hile and 4 great-grandchildren Elly, Brayden, Tyler and Zachary Jones.
