Sara D. Lenz Fortin

Sara D. Lenz Fortin, 48, of Moline, passed away February 24, 2025, at her home.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday March 1, 2025, at River City Church Latino, 900 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family. 

Sara was born on March 27, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of William R. and Ruth E. (Lyon) Lenz. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Art and Dance from the University of Iowa where she received a scholarship. Sara worked as a medical coder with the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. She enjoyed dance of all kinds: ballet, tap and jazz and taught at the Academy For the Performing Arts. Sara maintained lifelong friendships and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Griffin Fortin; parents, William & Ruth Lenz; sister, Laura (Ron) Radtke; brother, Christian Lenz; niece and nephew, Sydney Radtke and Camden Lenz; significant other, Doug Dyar; and her cats, Reggie and Beaver.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
