Shawn David Swanson

Shawn David Swanson, 51, of Rock Island, passed away, January 8, 2025, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family 

Shawn was born on May 1, 1973, in Moline, IL., the beloved son of Jim Swanson and Karen Fraser. It’s with deep sadness that we announce Shawn David Swanson’s passing. He was a devote Christian and follower of Jesus. He attended the Moline Gospel Temple for a majority of his life. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing church league softball. Shawn was an avid wrestling fan and followed closely WWE and attended many events. He really loved working when he was able. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Shawn was survived by: his mother Karen Fraser of West Liberty, his father Jim Swanson of Moline, two siblings Shelly Reed of Moline, Brian (Debbie) Swanson of Coyne Center; nieces Josie Swanson of Coyne Center and Crystal Ponce of Moline; niece Amber (Barry) Adams of West Liberty mother of his three great nephews Ryder, Hunter and Cooper, and nephew Brandon Reed. 

He is preceded in death by his stepmother Charlene Swanson and stepfather Daniel Fraser.
