Shirley M. Dunlap, 85, of Colona, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 Friday, March 12, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38 Ave., Moline. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorial may be made to your local humane society.
Shirley was born May 30, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Lindberg) Holmgren. She married Robert William Dunlap on February 28, 1945 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1996.
Shirley had a unique gift for writing and had written numerous wonderful poems. She also had dreams of one day publishing children's books. She enjoyed singing and flowers. She missed her beloved husband, daughter, grandson and great grandchild with whom she is now reunited. Above all else, she loved her family.
