Shirley L. Johnson, age 83, of Moline, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue,Moline. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research Association.
Shirley was born September 16, 1924 in Rio, IL, the daughter of Norman O. and Florence E. (Crouse) Johnson. She married Herbert W. Johnson on February 12, 1949 in Moline. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2007.
Shirley was employed at the Moline United States Post Office, as the post master's secretary for 35 years. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple, where she was involved in the Sunday School Department. Shirley was also a member of Christian Women's Club, and AARP
