Shirley Starr

Shirley A. Starr, 93, of Moline, passed away on July 2, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis.

Private services will be held, and interment will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Shirley was born on September 6, 1930, in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth and Lylas (Betcher) Ohrberg. She married William D. Starr on March 20, 1948, in Moline. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1999. Shirley had been previously employed as a realtor for George Pepp Young, Mel Foster and Bob Baecke Realty. She enjoyed growing vegetables and tending to her flowers. Shirley loved being outdoors and bird watching.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Dave) Werning; son, Mark (Celesta Moody) Starr; grandchildren, Jamie Medinger, Kristie (Ryan) Ekstam, Amy (Jody) Geyssens, Alicia (Kevin) Truman, Kristen (Chris) Stull, Jennifer (Rick) Richardson; great grandchildren, Courtney, Josh, Hannah, Samantha, Jason, Jasper, Juniper, Mason, Mike, Nick, Chris, Victoria; great grandchildren, Aurora, Emerson.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
