Shirley M. Stewart, age 89, of Moline, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Iowa Masonic Health Facilities, Bettendorf, IA.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Memorials may be made to Masonic Lodge #1014 A.F & A.M. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Shirley was born July 20, 1923, in LeClaire, IA, the daughter of Alfred and Mabel (Gilbert) Wells. She married Arthur Hemm in 1940. He preceded her in death September 1961. She later married Jack Stewart, he preceded her in death.
Shirley was employed as a cashier at Eagle Food Stores for 25 years, retiring in 1978. She was a graduate of Fulton High School. Shirley retired to Florida where she enjoyed the warmth and the sunshine. She liked rug hooking, needlepoint, reading, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid Cubs fan.
