Sidney W. Britton, 81 of Rock Island died May 26, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. on May 31, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.
Sid was born May 4, 1924 in Rock Island to Sidney W. and Mae Coyne Britton, Sr. He married Darlene DeMoulin on March 15, 1946. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1988.
Sid was a carrier for the U.S. Post Office retiring after 32 years.
Sid served in the U.S. Army in France during WWII. He was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. He enjoyed gardening and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
