Sophie Anne Swanson, 86, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Green Acres Health Care, in Amboy, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 192 U.S. 52, Mendota, IL, 61342. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mendota, IL.
Sophie was born on January 19, 1928, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Morgan and Eunice L. Albrecht Smith. She married William L. Swanson on September 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Sophie enjoyed the preaching work as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was an avid painter and had a great love of art. Her love and birds and animals was evident in the great care she took to learn about and care for them.

Grandchildren Jerome, Nathan, and Rachel
Great grandchildren Micah, Logan, Elisabeth, Robert, and Joshua
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
