Stella M Schultz

Stella M. Schultz, 97 of Orion, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402 10th Street, Orion. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion.

Stella was born April 29, 1919, in Humphrey, NE, the daughter of Conrad and Anna Eckholt Ternus.  She married Raymond John Schultz on July 29, 1941, at St. Francis Church, Humphrey, NE, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2000.

Stella was a homemaker while she and her husband farmed in the Osco area and were members of the Henry County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, quilting, and her flower garden.  She was an avid member of the Orion 500 Card Club as well as the Orion Senior Citizen Club.  Stella was a member of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion, where she was also a member of the Alter & Rosary Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean Briggs-Roberts (David), Alpha, and Janice Clarke (Richard), Woodhull; 7 grandchildren, Jann Braden (Bob), Carol O’Brien, Theresa Johnson (Doug), Mark Briggs (Karen), Scott Clarke (Sara), Raymond Clarke (Pamela), Elizabeth Oney (Cliff); 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Don Lloyd, Rochester, MN; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Schultz; 6 sisters, Catherine, Regina, Evelyn, Anna Mae, Thelma, and Rose Betty; 7 brothers, Paul, Edwin, Donald, William, Raymond, Victor, and Francis “Bud”.
