Stellastine M. "Stella" Weldon, 89 of Moline died August 7, 2006 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 with a visitaton one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory,Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Moline or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Stella was born to Allie Mae (Hunter) Moss and Volmer Moss in Palmyra, MO on August 25, 1916. She graduated from Moline High School and received a degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO.
Stella served a year with the American Red Cross in England and after returning to the U.S. moved to New York City where she was employed by the New York Housing Authority. Upon her return to Moline, she was employed by the Dept. of Mental Health until her retirement in 1983.
Stella was a life long member and former trustee of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Moline. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and an active member of the Moline Women's Civic Club. She was also a member of the Senior Active Club.
