Stephen V. Dabler, age 74, of Orion, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church, Coal Valley. Visitation is from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial is in Manlius Baptist Cemetery, Manlius, IL. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Ronald McDonald House. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Orion is assisting the family.
Steve was born May 6, 1935 in Putnam, IL the son of Verle and Irma (Hall) Dabler. He married Jean Cruse on December 15, 1957 in Wyanett, IL.
Steve was owner/operator of Dabler Chemical for over 25 years. He was a founding player of The Corn Cob Players, a local theater group. Steve was very involved in volunteering with Alcoholics Anonymous. He was also past president of the Orion Lion's Club.
SURVIVORS: Wife Jean Dabler of Orion, Daughter Pamela (Todd) Owens of Orion and Grandchildren Andrew, Luke, Emily & Lola Owens.
He was preceded in death by son, Jonathan Allen Dabler and 2 grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Owens & Adam Joseph Owens.
