Susan J Olson

Susan J Olson, 69, of Moline, passed away, March 12, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at First Covenant Church, Moline.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites will follow services. Inurnment will be at Moline Memorial Park at a later date.   Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church in Moline or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  

 Susan was born on July 7, 1954, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Constance (Peterson) and Richard Edlund. She married James Olson on January 9, 1976, at the First Covenant Church in Moline. Susan graduated from Moline High School and Illinois State University. She taught elementary school in the East Moline School District before being forced to retire in 1992 due to complications of multiple sclerosis. She was an active lifelong member of the First Covenant Church in Moline, and her faith was incredibly important to her.

 Survivors include her husband Jim of Moline; son Steven (Megan) Olson of Princeton, IL; brother Greg (Rachel) Edlund of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brothers-in-law Bob (Betty) Olson of Northbrook, IL; Don (Gabrielle) Olson of Sarasota, FL; sister-in-law Jan (Nancy) Hensley-Olson of Des Plaines, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Carl and June Olson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joanne and Clarence Mueller.
