Susanna Gail Sandberg

Susanna “Sue” Sandberg, 73 of Rock Island, Il. passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2023, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loved ones while on vacation in Fl.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline.  Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to Q.C. Paws.

She was born Susanna Cosner on May 18, 1950, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Warren and Helen Cosner.

After graduating from Moline High School, Sue embarked on a successful career as a Personal Banker, where she found great joy in helping her clients throughout the years.

Sue's kind heart and warm personality will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She had a genuine appreciation for the smaller things in life, such as spending time with her family, cooking meals, working in her flower beds, shopping, and most of all the holidays. Sue was a huge fan of the Cubs and never missed a game. She always loved her time at the casino and when she could no longer attend in person, she loved spinning the slot machines online.

Sue's family was the light of her life. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert Sandberg, her sons Tim Work and Chris Work, daughter-in-law Yvette Work, son-in-law Doug Pinkston, and her grandchildren Amber and Chandler Work and his fiance, Brooke Veyette. Her two sisters, Kay Vaughn and Helen Clark Beck, also mourn her passing. Sue will be reunited with her late brother, Jerry Cosner and her beloved dog Boomer who she has missed every day since his passing.
