Sven Melvin Ostrand, 81, of Moline died January 26, 2007 at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #246, Moline. Memorials may be to American Legion Post #246, or Trinity Terrace Park Pathway Hospice.
Melvin was born June 30, 1925 in Moline to Henning and Olga Bjurstrom Ostrand.
He married Pat Ryker on August 3, 1946 in Moline.
Melvin was a precision grinder for IH Farmall Works for 33 years.
Melvin was an U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post #246, Moline. He loved fishing, car races, and the outdoors. He was known as the neighborhood handyman and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
