Ted Girton, 72, of Moline, passed away, April 4, 2024, at his residence after a hard fought battle with an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday April 9, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Rock Island National Cemetery. The procession will leave the funeral home for the cemetery at 2 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Memorials may be made to V.F.W. 8890 Auxiliary. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Ted was born on December 19, 1951, in Moline, the son of Frank and Laurice “Lori” (Toutant) Girton. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 during the Vietnam Conflict. Ted married Gloria “Glo” Navarro Logan on July 25, 2016, in Rock Island. Ted was previously employed at Rhythm City Casino as a dealer and later in security. He was a truly an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. He loved to fish with his son, Matt and spend as much time together as they could. He also enjoyed going to the casino and above all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife and best friend of over 42 years, Gloria Navarro Logan; son, Matthew (Christine) Logan, East Moline; stepdaughter, Pamela Logan, Moline; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Ricky Girton, Moline; sister, Nancy Tipton, Rock Island; and his beloved dog, Cookie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Girton & Lori Gordon, and in-laws, Martin & Julia Navarro.
