Thomas Michael Bassett

Thomas Michael Bassett, 72, of Davenport, passed away, May 14, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center East.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church.

Thomas was born on June 22, 1951, in Moline, the son of Gladys (Murk) and Gene Bassett. He married Phyllis Schorr on August 13, 1988, in Huntington Station, New York. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2024. Thomas graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After school, he was a minister and missionary for 27 years in France with his wife Phyllis. He enjoyed spending his time gardening and collecting rocks. Thomas was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church and was a man who truly loved his lord.

Survivors include his sister Carolyn (Julio) Garcia, and niece and nephew Christopher (Stephanie) Garcia, and Jeremy (Misty) Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Bassett, and parents Gladys and Gene Bassett.
