Thomas Arthur Blade

Thomas Arthur Blade, 77, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, January 04, 2021, at his residence.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A private family service will be held at this time.  Due to covid there will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers Tom asked for memorials to be made to First Lutheran Church, Moline.

Tom was born on August 4, 1943, in Moline, the son of Carl and Mildred (Gillen) Blade.  He married Kathryn Anne Swanson on July 12, 1980 at First Lutheran Church, Moline.  Tom received his BA from Augustana College, MA from the University of Illinois, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago.  For 50 years Tom served as a Lawyer at Blade Law Office P.C., Moline.  Tom was a lifelong member at First Lutheran Church, Moline.  His hobbies included reading, chess, puzzles, games, trivia, and watching movies.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Sarah (Jason) Nunn, Carol (James) Kumm; grandchildren, Trevor, Carson, & Maddox Nunn, Madison & Thomas Kumm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Carl Jr., and sister, Mary Murphy.
