Thomas G. Rodgers, 34 of Davenport, IA died January 16, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2004 at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave. Moline. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his children.
Thomas was born October 11, 1969 to Thomas C. and Jean Carder Rodgers. He married Amalia Portillo on June 11, 1993 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline.
Thomas was the Director of Training & Development for Dealer Marketing Services. Thomas received his MBA from St. Ambrose University in 2000.
Thomas was a group leader of BSF and was involved with Men's Ministries at Homewood Evangelical Free Church. He organized bible studies for those affected by cancer. He enjoyed having breakfast dates with his sons once a week. He enjoyed talking with others, reading, journaling, playing tennis and chess with his sons, and golf.
He wanted to be just like Jesus because Grant and Joseph wanted to be just like him. He always had a great attitude and his faith kept him positive and upbeat even during the hardest days of his courageous five year battle with cancer.
