Thomas “Tom” Francis Marshall, 75, of Rock Island, passed away, Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Centennial Rehab & Healthcare, Moline.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11:00a.m., at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one-hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.
Tom was born on June 10, 1945, in Moline, the son of Carl and Frances (Lofgren) Marshall. He graduated from L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, CA. Tom was a long-time member of Moline Gospel Temple initially as a “bus kid” and later he served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, organist, pianist, and vocalist. During his time as a minister, he had 3 churches. An enjoyable part of his life was music, Tom was the Music Director at the Milan Presbyterian Church as well as directing other choirs, ensembles, and students. He enjoyed roller-skating, photographing his family and friends, nature & architecture.
Survivors include his daughters, Laura (Carl) Pottenger, Erie, Marilyn (Bill) Bouldin, Joplin, MO; grandchildren, Christopher (Allison), Nate (Katie), Brandon (Justine), Rebecca (Lee); great grandchildren, Hunter, Chance, Alyierah, Rhett and Aliyah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Larson-Marshall; granddaughter, Stephanie; brothers, Donald Marshall, Billy Marshall, and Fred Marshall.
