Twyla Lundell

Twyla Jane Lundell, 86, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at First Covenant Church, Moline.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  An additional visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.  Cremation rites will follow services.  Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church or Youth Hope, Moline.

Twyla was born on January 18, 1935, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Esther Liljegren.  She married James Lundell, who she met in college, on August 18, 1956, in Sioux City. She was a member of First Covenant Church, where her husband was the pastor for twenty-five years and was active in the choir and in Covenant Women.  Twyla served alongside her husband in many areas of ministry. She had the voice of an angel.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. James Lundell; children, Debbie Lundell, Nancy (Terry) Young, Susan Caldwell; grandson, Tom (Amanda) Young; granddaughters, Katie (Lindsey) Britt, Britta (Jacob) Miller, Kerstin (Dion) Wooley; great grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah Young; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Dorothy Englund, Herb Liljegren, and Paul Liljegren

Twyla was beloved by many.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
