VeBina Knupp-Searl, 96, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
VeBina was born on August 13, 1922, in Beebe, AR, the daughter of Ellis E. and Eva (Chissom) Sands. She married Harry F. Knupp on November 1, 1941, in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1990. She later married Isaac “Ike” Searl on May 19, 2001, in Moline. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2011.
VeBina was a member of Sacred Heart, where she participated in the choir, altar & rosary society, and was involved with pastoral care. She was a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis and was active in the Cursillo community as well as the convert club. She was also a former girl scout leader.
She was employed at Illinois Bell during the war years and later worked at Dimock-Gould Wholesale Distributing. VeBina went on to work at Rock Island Floor Care and retired in 1983, after 16 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret (William) Holmquist, Silvis, Katherine (Harold) Meneley, Illinois City, and Cecilia (Alan) Hart, San Marcos, CA; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Stotz, Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and sisters, Rowena Metz and Daisy Mitchell.
