Vera Morrison, 82, of Moline died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Trinity West Hospital. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave. Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
Vera was born 4 August, 1922 in Korzec, Ukraine, daughter of Vladimir and Juliania Redka Badowska. She married Gene Morrison 13 February, 1946 in Liege, Belgium.
Vera came to the U.S. in 1946 as a WWII war bride. She enjoyed getting together with other French-speaking war brides. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, sewing and camping. She and Gene were members of the Holiday Ramblers camping club. Most of all, she enjoyed her family. She was known and loved for her feisty personality and "never give up" attitude.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Gene, Moline; son and his spouse Don and Barbara Morrison, Moline; granddaughter, Christine Ferber, Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Zina Pelypiak.
