Vernette Evelyn Larson

Vernette Evelyn Larson, age 89, formerly of Andover, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 at the church. Burial is in the Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the Augustana Lutheran Church Children's Library. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Vernette was born on January 4, 1919 in Moline, the daughter of Bernhardt "Ben" and Florence Carlson Carlson. She married Don R. "Lake" Larson on February 14, 1947 in Carthage, IL. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1996.
Vernette was a licensed beautician before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Andover Lutheran Church where she was involved with the church choir and librarian for many years. She was a member of the I.N.F. club and active with the Andover Historical Society. Vernette was involved with the Geneseo Community Center and the McGuffy readers of the Orion Library.
