Vernina Althea Strike, 96, of Moline, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Illini Restorative Care.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 at Moline Memorial Park. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Vernina's family or to St. John's Lutheran Church.
Vernina was born on April 13, 1915 in East Moline to Albert August and Augusta Anna Schonrock Kruger. She married Joseph Fredrick Carl. Strike on December 16, 1933 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1994.
Vernina was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, where she was the treasurer of ladies aid and 60 plus. She was a former member of Beacon Lights of Elim Covenant Church, Moline. She enjoyed reading, music and growing African Violets .
