Vernis P. "Paul" Anderson, 90, of Moline, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Trinity Moline.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38 Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline with military honors conducted by the Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Illinois Veterans Affairs.
Paul was born August 15, 1920 in Cord, Arkansas, the son of Ernest and Emma (Daringer) Anderson. He married Norma Sandlin on November 24, 1961 in Rock Island. Paul was a WWII Army veteran serving as an Automotive Mechanic with the 21st Fighter Squadron. He retired as a shop foreman from McLaughlin Body after 36 years. He loved to hunt and fish and was a handyman who was known as a "Mr. Fix-It" to his family. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and could always be found sitting in "his chair", which was his trademark. As soon as someone walked in the door, "Pops'" infectious smile would lighten up the room.
