Vernon L. Vinstrand, age 89, of Orion, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. 1301-4th Street, Orion. Burial is at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorials may be made to Augustana Lutheran Church or the Orion Ambulance Service.
Vernon was born November 17, 1921, the son of Lawrence and Mabel Vinstrand of rural Andover. He married Alice G. Hutchinson of Cambridge on March 26, 1944.
Vernon was a life long farmer in rural Osco, and also a life long member of Augustana Lutheran Church. .He was also employed at Larson Pump Co. and Osco Fireworks. Vernon enjoyed baseball, fishing, bowling and Life
Vernon is survived by his wife Alice, daughters and son-in-laws; Pat & Don Larson, Debbie Weber (deceased), Betty & Rich Nightingale, Tim & Marie Weber. Grandchildren;Tricia (Brian) Johnson, Troy (Melissa) Larson Dawn Larson (deceased), Jen (Aaron) Martin, Steve (Lia) Nightingale, Emily Nightingale, Connie (Tim) Flowers, Jim Weber (deceased) Dan (Erica) Weber, Carrie (Shawn) Lamb, Michele Weber Anderson, Christi Weber. 14 great grandchildren; Jake, Sophie & Emma, Bella & Jovey, Tanner, Tyler, Jaide, Ezra, Isaac, Quentin, Ryleigh, Isabella & Gage.
