Vicki Howard, 66, of Moline, IL, was received into the arms of the Lord and entered eternal life on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline.  Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to family.

Vicki was born on September 25, 1949, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Austin and Helen (Perry) Howard.  She graduated from United Township High School in 1967.  She married Tony Egger.  He preceded her in death.  Vicki worked many years in sales and co-founded QC Staffing, where she later retired due to her illness.

Vicki was a wonderful storyteller and had an outrageous sense of humor. She was someone who never played by the rules. She enjoyed talking…, talking…and did we mention she loved to talk.  In her own fantasy world, Vicki was a cowgirl who admired horses, but in real life she was a hippie who treasured her “chirun” and “grandchurin”.   Her home was always open to her family and friends in need.  Above all Vicki was fiercely loyal to all she loved.

Survivors include her

Daughters                                Ronna (Chris) Cameron

Piper (Marvin) McFarlin

Grandchildren                         Nick McFarlin, Brock Strang, Aliyah Smilgis, Jack Moore and Kane Smilgis

Brother                                    Randy Howard

Many nieces and nephews

Sister from another Mister      Sheila (Ram) Samuel

She handled her diagnosis and death with grace and dignity.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Shobha Chitneni and the nurses and staffs at Hematology & Oncology, the radiology department at Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for all the love and compassion they showed Vicki and her family during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Brenda McKinney and her two sons Jade Smilgis and infant Jade Humphrey.
