Victor M. Vande Voorde

Victor Vande Voorde, age 90, of Moline, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation is 4-7 Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church.
Vic was born November 3, 1917 in Moline the son of Edward and Marie Ludovica (Letters) Vande Voorde. He married Clara May Buster on December 2, 1945 in Grandview, IA.
Vic was employed for 43 years at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., retiring in March of 1980. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Vic was one of the founders of the Center for Belgium Culture for Western Illinois. He was a former president and vice president of both the Friends Circle Club and the Moline and East Moline Pigeon Club. He enjoyed playing Rolle-Bolle, fishing, dancing, hunting, playing cards and above all his pigeons. Vic was also an avid Cubs fan.
