Viola D Secymore

Viola D. Secymore, 87, of Lynn Center, IL, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo, IL.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL.  Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Swedona Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church.

Viola was born on May 11, 1930, in Roodhouse, IL, the daughter of Charles and Eva Jane Brown Osborne.  She married Harold Secymore on June 15, 1947, in Roodhouse, and he preceded her in death on October 24, 1985.  She worked in dry cleaning for Parker Laundry in Rock Island.

Viola was a member of Swedona Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed Bingo and playing cards.  She especially loved to go fishing, camping, and dancing.  Above all, Viola loved to spend time with her family, especially, her grandchildren.

Survivors include her  children, Sheila Brayton, Lynn Center, IL, Thomas Secymore, Geneseo, IL and Roger (Robyn) Secymore, Swedona, IL; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Christine Secymore and Joni Secymore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Paul, daughter-in-law Cynthia, 6 sisters, and 5 brothers.
