Violet Jeanette Snell

Violet Jeanette Snell, 80, of Sherrard, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at her residence.
Memorial service will be 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church, 918 Second Street, Colona., Illinois. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service. Per her wishes cremations rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Green Rock Free Will Baptist Church. Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Violet was born on November 26, 1929 in Alpha to Ralph and Ida Strandberg Lundquist. She married Walter Snell on January 12, 1949 in Rock Island.
Violet lived her life with her husband, Walter, farming for over 60 years in Alpha, Coal Valley, and Sherrard. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and an excellent cook. She also loved taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, hunting mushrooms, working puzzles, bird watching and visiting with family and friends.
