Virginia Van Assche, 93, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center - Activity Fund.
Virginia was born on February 14, 1920, in Marble Hill, MO, the daughter of John and Annis (Godwin) Hensley. She married Marshall Van Assche on June 1, 1946, in Moline, IL, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1987.
She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and visiting with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, John Hensley, Louise Robins, and Pauline Kincade, and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Van Assche.
