Virginia "Ginny" Buckwalter, 72, of Moline, died August 16, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.
Ginny was born October 22, 1936 in Macomb, IL to William and Lenore (Welch) Wilhelm. She married Richard A. "Buck" Buckwalter on August 30, 1963 in Rock Island.
Ginny developed pictures at Don Wright, worked at Kinney's Shoes in King Plaza and worked at Teske's. She later sold jewelry at JcPenney, South Park and then did upholstery work for Nancy Endress and Roy's Upholstery.
Ginny was a member of Mississippi Valley Country Western Music Association and Mississippi Valley Wood Carvers. She enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, helping people and spending time with her grandchildren.
