Virginia Mae Nagelmiller

Virginia Mae Nagelmiller, 98, of Matherville, passed away Monday April 1, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday April 5, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 1301 4^th Street, Orion. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to her family.  

Virginia was born on September 30, 1925, in rural Sherrard, the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Olive (Stevenson) Brasmer. She married Joseph “Red” F. Nagelmiller on June 30, 1951, in Milan. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1994. During WWII, Virginia worked at John Deere assembling airplane parts. She later worked for the Servus Rubber Company and did upholstery work. Virginia was a devoted homemaker for her family, whom she loved very much.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon K. (Shawn T.) Campbell, Matherville and their daughter, Elizabeth A. (Cody) Manthe of Davenport and their son Harrison; son, Rodney (Colena) Nagelmiller, Viola and their daughters, Chelsea and Emily; special nieces and nephew, Dorothy Woolley, East Moline, Bonnie Kenney, Milan, Leslie (Jeanne) Brasmer, Sherrard; many great nieces and great nephews along with many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers, Martin, Harold, Dale, George, Maurice, Earl, Delbert and two sisters, Edna and Inez.
