Virginia Rose, age 97, of Moline, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at First Covenant Church, 3303 41st Street, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Virginia was born August 8, 1911 in Moline, the daughter of Jay and Edna (Peters) Becker. She married Allan Rose on March 11, 1939 in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Virginia was employed as a Stenographer for Carlson Brothers for 12 years, retiring in 1941. She was a member of First Covenant Church in Moline, and was a life member of Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley where she golfed until she was 86. Virginia was also a Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing.
