Virginia "Ginger" Shaffnit, 74 of Rock Island died May 2, 2006 at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.
Private graveside services will be held at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd is assisting the family.
Ginger was born August 5, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Oscar and Eva (Burris) Osborn. She married Robert "Bob" Shaffnit on October 24, 1954 at St. John's in Davenport. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2000.
Ginger was a librarian working at Audubon Elementary retiring in 1984.. Prior to her working as a librarian, she worked for the Rock Island Arsenal.
Ginger was a member of First Baptist Church, Rock Island.
