Vivian Marie "Minnie" Sample, age 91, of East Moline, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be on Thursday 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline.
Minnie was born March 30, 1917 in Hampton, IL the daughter of Harry William and Mary Etta (Lear) Kipp, Sr. She married Lester G. Sample on September 10, 1938 in East Moline, IL.
Minnie was employed at John Deere Harvester, East Moline. She was also employed by East Moline School System # 37 in the cafeteria, and by EPIC Food at the John Deere Headquarters. Minnie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, the East End Club, Friend's Circle, American Legion Post #421 Auxiliary for 60 years, and the UAW Retirees 865.
Minnie enjoyed playing cards, sports and was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved going out to eat with her family and friends.
