Wallace E. Rasmussen, 82 of Bettendorf died May 6, 2005 at Bettendorf Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. with a visitation from 12-2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Health Care Center or Heartland Hospice.
Wallace was born December 28, 1922 at Summit Lake, Wisconsin son of Peter H. and Mae Taylor Rasmussen. He graduated from Elcho Wisconsin High School in 1940 and then attended the University of Wisconsin. He married Marjorie L. Wise on October 24, 1942, Moline.
He was a WWII Navy veteran serving submarine duty between 1943-1945. After serving in the Navy he served a 4 year apprenticeship as a tool & die maker for International Harvester East Moline Works. He was a manager for Almquist Furniture Store and retired in 1985 as district manager for Velde Corp, Des Moines, IA.
Wallace was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Waverly, IA. He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Marion , IA; 32nd degree Mason, Cedar Rapids, IA and Tyrell Lodge #16, Waverly, IA.
